Entry Room

In Entry & Family room we added a comfortable sofa and armchair for the main house and continued the rustic look with the Barn Entry. We utilised the existing coffee table and side table to save budget and we used the tv unit from the Living room as it flowed through

We offered our customer ahave a couple of options when placing the furniture, The sofa and other pieces would be placed around the tv. Sometimes you need to play around with your furniture a little bit to come to the layout and flow that feels right.

Adding a rug to these type of spaces really help shape the room and create clear designated areas. A rug not only adds texture to a room but also keeps your furniture from floating. When buying rugs, make sure to select the correct size. You want all furniture to sit on top of your rug or at least the two front furniture legs.

You'll see that our colour scheme is reflected in the soft finishes in this room. Be advised that when buying throws and cushions, you shop for different textures, sizes and shapes. The same goes for decorative pieces. While often overlooked they do really add that extra complimentary layer and complete your room.

We suggest bringing in multiple (artificial) plants and flowers to bring some greenery into the spaces as they will make your rooms more lively.

The artwork in all of the moodboards was selected based on what the customer already owned. We understand artwork is very personal, so advised our customer to shop around for what they like. Maybe have a look at 'Middle of Nowhere', we feel they have pieces very similar to what you might like. In our designs we replaced all the ceiling fans with ones that match the coastal farmhouse style better.

Dining Room

In the dining room we added some beautiful green dining chairs to replace the heavy steel chairs and bench. They inject colour into the dining area and also work cohesively with the colours used in the family room. This way you can really unify both spaces.

We've added another rug to really define this area. We also suggested using a big vase with stems of greenery to use as a centrepiece on your dining table. Adding a table runner or napkins you can add texture and a nice set table will instantly create a very inviting feeling. Choosing the right decoration will accentuate your table and make it stand out.

We chose new light fixtures for above the kitchen counter that will match the design style better. The barstools and even dog bed got an upgrade too. Adding a nice buffet will help fill up the space and will give more storage options.

Living Room

We added new pieces of furniture (sofa, armchair, coffee table, entertainment unit) as requested to suit the main theme of the home. The main focus was on more comfort and lighting up the room, but keeping the colour scheme.

We also added some floor pillows as a suggestion to create more seating options for the kids. We changed the rug to a lighter colour, but kept the texture.

The Barn Living & Dining

In the dining area we kept the table, but replaced the dining chairs with these black, more farmhouse style ones.

Matching furniture sets can be too much and boring, by mixing up furniture pieces you will add interest to your space. Similar to the dining room in the main house you can add nice fresh flowers as a centrepiece or have a set table to create an inviting feeling. We moved the TV to the rumpus room, so that this area can be centred around the fireplace.

You could warm up next to the fire while reading a book or playing board games with the family. You could use your existing leather sofa and add other interesting pieces that will create a cosy little nook.

Master Bedroom

For the master bedroom we added a grey carpet and painted the panelling in the same colour as your walls.

We came up with a design based on your inspiration board. Because you already have the panelling on the wall we would suggest getting rid of the bedhead. You could use it in one of the bedrooms in the barn. Same goes for your bed side tables. Installing a floating shelf across the entire length of your wall adds interest and creates extra storage space.

By adding throw pillows and a throw you can layer the bed to give that more inviting feel.

The Barn Rumpus

We turned your rumpus room into a tv room and selected pieces that will match the furniture in the other rooms even better. We absolutely love the work that's already been put in this place and see amazing potential for it to be turned into a cosy barn accommodation.

We've added a tv unit that could be placed against the wall where you now have your sofa. Have the sofa facing the tv and place other items around accordingly. You could use your black & white console from the main house in here to go against the opposite wall.

Bedroom1

In this bedroom we've only added ideas for decorative items, lamps, linen and a rug to give the room that farmhouse feel. By using white linen for the bed, you can keep the space bright and open.

Selecting a quilt that's a size bigger than your bedframe you add volume. Again we suggest adding different textures, shapes and colours by using throw pillows and a throw for layering the bed and creating more depth. In the corner of this room we would get rid of the mirror and add a chair and artwork to complete the space.

Bedroom2

In the bedroom that we're creating from scratch we went for a more romantic version of the farmhouse style. Creating a feature wall by adding some beautiful wallpaper.

Choosing linen in our accent colour you tie in the room with the other spaces in the barn. Since it is a spacious room you could again place a similar armchair to the one we've selected in the first bedroom in the corner. Adding a plant, a throw and some pillows will instantly turn it into a little reading nook.

Dressing Room

We included some pieces you could add to turn this room into a cosy dressing room. You could also introduce greenery by putting hanging plants in the wall opening.

Outdoor

We selected items that will add texture and layering to the area: rug, cushions, bean bags, ... It's a little less farmhouse and has a bit more coastal feel. But by using similar colours in your decorative items and soft furnishings you can still make the connection with what you have created inside your house.

We've added an entire new outdoor dining setting, but the chairs would also work perfectly with your existing timber dining table. Adding string lights or fairy lights to decorate your space will set the mood for any occasion.
